First and foremost, our officers are observers of human behavior. Being able to identify threats and make adjustments to improve the effectiveness of the existing measures is what separates a bodyguard from a protection specialist.

When you suspect your spouse or significant other is Committing Adultery, don’t ignore it. Statistics from the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy suggest that 15% of wives and 25% of husbands have had sex outside of their marriage.

- When an extramarital affair leads to divorce, a Cheating spouses action can be a major factor in Family Court. But you must have strong documented evidence of infidelity in Divorce Cases—it is not enough to merely suspect it.

Definition of infidelity
South Carolina law defines adultery as two people having sex or living together when at least one of them is married to someone else. You do not have to have direct evidence of a sexual act and you can use circumstantial evidence; you merely must show that the spouse had an inclination to commit Adultery and the opportunity to do so.
For unmarried couples, knowing whether your significant other is cheating can just be a matter of protecting one’s health or gaining peace of mind. But for married couples, it can have serious financial consequences. In South Carolina, when a marriage ends in divorce, Cheating Spouses can be barred from alimony.

Intercept Security is a private security company that is owned and operated by Joel OQuinn, a former Law Enforcement Officer with over 30 years in the profession. He opened this company in 2016 after realizing the need for security in residential neighborhoods, etc. Local law enforcement agencies are sometimes understaffed and they are limited on the amount of time they can devote to any single community. Intercept Security employ's former Law Enforcement and Military Police Officers. Intercept Security operates under a strict Code of Conduct and the Officers are held to a high standard.
Courtesy, respect and professionalism are expected from all employee's.
Intercept Security Officers have the same arrest powers as the Sheriff on the property they are paid to protect. We assist communities/neighborhoods/businesses, etc. with assessing security needs and implementing services that reduce and often eliminate crime and other issues that shed a negative light on their property. We conduct a community policing approach to our enforcement responsibilities in neighborhoods, etc.

An Intercept Security Officer acts as an official representative who is required and trusted to work within the law. The Officer's powers and duties are conferred by statue. The fundamental duties of the officer include serving the community, safeguarding lives and property, and protecting the innocent.

An Intercept Security Officer shall perform all duties impartially, without favor of affection or ill will and without regard to status, sex, race, religion, political belief or aspiration. All citizens will be treated equally with courtesy, consideration and dignity.
An Intercept Security Officer will never allow personal feelings, animosities or friendships to influence his or her conduct. Laws will be enforced appropriately and courteously and, in carrying out their responsibilities, officers will strive to obtain maximum cooperation from the public. They will conduct themselves in appearance and department in such a manner as to inspire confidence and respect for the position of trust they hold.
An Intercept Security Officer will never employ unnecessary force or violence and will only use such forces in discharge of duty as is reasonable in all circumstances. The use of force should be only used after discussion, negotiation and persuasion have been found to be inappropriate or ineffective. While the use of force is occasionally unavoidable, every Intercept Security Officer will refrain from unnecessary infliction of pain or suffering and will never engage in cruel, degrading or inhumane treatment of any person. Whatever an Intercept Security Officer sees, hears or learns of that is of a confidential nature will be kept secret unless the performance of duty or legal provision requires otherwise. Members of the public have the right to security and privacy, and information obtained about them must not be improperly divulged.
An Intercept Security Officer will not engage in acts of corruption or bribery, nor will an officer condone such acts by other Intercept Officers. Intercept Security demands that the integrity of Intercept Security Officers be above reproach. Intercept Security Officers must, therefore, avoid any conduct that might compromise integrity and undercut the public's confidence. Intercept Security Officers will refuse to accept any gifts, presents, subscriptions, favors, gratuities or promises that could be interpreted as seeking to cause the Officer to refrain from performing official responsibilities honestly and within the law. Intercept Security Officers must not receive private or special advantage from their official status. Respect from the public cannot be bought, it can only be earned and cultivated.
Intercept security Officers will cooperate with all legally authorized agencies and their representatives in the pursuit of justice. It is imperative that Intercept Security Officers assist Police fully and completely with respect and consideration at all times.
Intercept Security Officers will be responsible for their own standard of professional performance and will take every reasonable opportunity to enhance and improve their level of knowledge and competence.
Through study and experience, an Intercept Security Officer can acquire the high level of knowledge and competence that is essential for the efficient and effective performance of duty. The acquisition of knowledge is a never ending process of personal and professional development that should be pursued constantly.
Intercept security Officers will behave in a manner that does not bring discredit to their agencies or themselves. An Intercept Security Officers character and conduct while off duty must always be exemplary , thus maintaining a position of respect in the community in which he or she lives or serves. Westbury Park Residential Association engaged Intercept Security beginning very early in 2020 as our community's security provider after an exhaustive search. Over the years, we've contracted a number of different security vendors, including some of the larger, national security companies in the past, but were unsatisfied with their ability to meet the needs of our community.
In contrast, literally as soon as Intercept Security took over, we noticed a change for the positive. Joel OQuinn, Owner and President of Intercept Security began by presenting and implementing a plan to increase community engagement, followed by a review of our policies and procedures, which led to his recommending some important changes based on his vast experience in law enforcement and community security services.
Mr. OQuinn and the officers of Intercept Security quickly established themselves as providing a positive presence within our community by their calm and professional handling of a variety of situations including traffic stops, noise concerns, etc.

The Live Oak Plantation Home Owners Association (HOA) is vested with the operation of our community, acting through its Board of Directors. It is our obligation to ensure a safe and secure place to live and enforce the rules set forth in our governing documents.
Our community has an amenity area that includes a pool, playground and basketball court. We have found over time these areas were getting run over with juveniles not necessarily from our community. Some of the problems we encountered was drug use and sales within the covenant protected areas. Profanity, smoking and intimidating acts towards residents. These acts made our amenity area undesirable to the residents.
Intercept Security was brought in to help resolve these faults in the summer of 2018. Joel and his staff have made a huge change for our community. They have cleaned up the drug activity and are responsible for several drug related arrests. Intercept has been working very closely with local law enforcement. Through their tenure with us, Intercept has been instrumental in making our neighborhood a more family friendly place to live and enjoy. Going forward, we will absolutely continue to use Intercept Security for any and all of our needs.

Mr. OQuinn’s Security firm, Intercept Security was retained by one of our valued clients to provide Security oversight during a time of dire need. The community Board of Directors retained Mr. OQuinn to oversee a premier Community who was riddled with crime and in two cases, loss of life.
Without hesitation Mr. OQuinn implemented safety precautions and assigned an experienced staff to oversee the community. It has been my pleasure to know and work with Joel in University Park both in my role as a board member in overseeing security matters and as board President. His security firm, Intercept Security LLC, has had an extremely positive influence on our community of almost 300 homes. I have profound respect for Joel and what he has been able to accomplish in the community in under two years’ time. Joel has a strength of character that most people lack, a true compassion for people. I have been approached by several residents with stories of how Joel helped their family with a troubled teen or some other family situation. I have personally witnessed Joel befriending residents and really getting to know families on a personal level throughout the neighborhood.
Joel is always beyond helpful to residents in the community but also firm and just when it comes to correcting the issues our neighborhood faced. Joel has a unique ability to reach almost anyone on a personal level which is invaluable in his line of work. Joel has a way of linking people together and deescalating situations with ease. I have worked as a police officer in the past and have an understanding for how important this character trait is in this line of work. Prior to Joel enforcing rules and regulations in our neighborhood, our crime level was embarrassing. Our community is largely investor owned and several residents are college kids attending the local college. We have gone from having multiple homicides, shootings, speeding, and disturbances involving intoxicated college kids to a neighborhood void of any of these issues. This is a direct result of the challenging work and dedication Joel puts into every minute he is on the job.
Joel has implemented, on his own, several helpful tools the board now uses to monitor and address issues in our community. Joel has also identified dozens of maintenance issues, dealt with animal cruelty cases, reported covenants violations although they were not part of his scope of work. Joel was doing such a great job, we hired his team to monitor our pool as well which has shown amazing results in eliminating much of the issues we have had for over a decade. Joel has been able to grow his business due to word of mouth alone. I would recommend Joel’s services to anyone with a need for a professionally staffed organization.
